. Enroute visit the Sam Poh Tong cave temple. Thereafter stop at the Royal town of
Kuala Kangsar
for a spell of photographing of the exterior view only of Ubudiah Mosque,
Iskandariah
Palace
and Istana Kenangan. Proceed further to Kuala Sepetang mangrove forest, the best managed mangrove forest in
Malaysia
and one that serves a very important ecological role in protecting the coastline from erosion. Delight in the novelty of walking through natural mangrove forest on a boardwalk. Kuala Sepetang produces the bulk of the nation’s top quality mangrove charcoal. Visit a charcoal kiln where quality charcoals are produced. Take a rest stop in a small town of
Gerik
. Order light snacks or just take a stroll in this rustic town. Arrival and check into the Belum Rainforest Resort. Overnight Belum Rainforest Resort

Breakfast . At 0830hrs after breakfast proceed for a tour of the
Belum
Valley
, an area bristling with fauna and flora, a rich national heritage. This last frontier of Peninsular Malaysia beckons the adventurous ones with its everlasting charm.

, we will take a boat ride for a tour of the aboriginal villages. Observe and mingle with the ‘Orang Asli’ people, which literally mean ‘the original people’. These are of the Jahai and Temiar people of the aboriginal’s ethnic groups of Peninsular Malaysia.
We will have the opportunity to trek in the jungle and with some luck to see the ‘Rafflesia’ - the world’s largest flower, in the wilderness. Packed lunch will be served. Enjoy the encounter with scenic waterfall in the lush green jungle pouring through the heart of nature crafting out an unforgettable feeling of having been in the oldest tropical rainforest of the world - 130 million years old. Return to the resort.
Rest of the day is free at leisure. Try your luck with fishing (note: fishing rod and equipments are available for rental) who knows, you might get the abundant famous Toman or the snake head fish. In other words, just relax and enjoy the ever-soothing nature’s influence on you. It is indeed a place that will bring you an everlasting memory of nature’s greatness and its tropical blessings.
In the evening just before sunset try your chance of elephant’s sighting by cruising on the
East West Main Road

After breakfast depart for an overland transfer to Kota Bahru. A brief tour of Kota Bahru includes the famous colourful wet market and the traditional cottage industries such as silver handicraft and songket weaving. Proceed for lunch at the local restaurant before heading to

Po Toh Tze Buddhist Temple, State Museum which display artifacts from Sabah’s Past and modern work of art, State Mosque which is a spectacular sight of structure with its majestic domes and gold motifs, Tanjung Aru Beach- the famous long sandy public beach with a lots of Hawker Stalls.
After lunch (on pax account), take a 30 minutes drive on the Tuaran road, up north of the State Capital, Kota Kinabalu. Reach the Mengkabong Water Villages, a settlement of the Bajau, the descendant of pirates who set foot on this land in the early 19th century. Bajau tribe are natural born fishermen. Houses are built on stilts and connected by wooden planks. Stop over for picture taking before heading to Tuaran district. Visit a market place and a Chinese temple. Walk up to the 7 storey newly built Pagoda to have a spectacular view of the area. Return to hotel with a stopover at a pottery factory. Overnight

Sandakan
. Enroute stop at Poring Hot Spring. Upon arrival at Poring Hot Spring, proceed through nature walk trails and up to the Canopy Plank Walk for a composing view of the rainforest. If you are lucky, you might catch sight of the small mammals, reptiles or insects during the walk. Take a therapeutic dip in the opened-air-style-Bathtubs with running sulphured water flowing naturally from the earth’s crust. Continue your journey to

The many dramatic and beautiful birds of the Kinabatangan region that may be sighted are elegant egrets, several species of kingfishers, the oriental darter which dives underwater to catch its prey, swift and vividly coloured bee-eaters and hornbills. Return to the Lodge for breakfast. Check out and continue journey to The Sepilok Sanctuary - the world’s largest orang utan sanctuary. Orang utans (jungle men of
Borneo
) which have been abandoned by their mother or were formerly in captivity are rehabilitated until fit enough to return to the wild. Watching these charming and entertaining creatures during feeding time at 1000/1500hrs is a sheer delight. Check in to Sepilok Nature Resort. Rest of the day is at your own leisure. Overnight
